Hello.
Oyako means parents and children.
Don is Donburi which means rice bowls.
Oyakodon’s ingredients are chicken and egg, that's why it is called Oyako-Don.
Oyako-Don is like a soft omelette with cooked chicken on steam rice. Sauce is soy sauce and dashi taste so it works well with steam rice.
This meal is easy to cook and rich in protein.
Ingredients
2 piece of chicken filets
½ to 1 onion
3 eggs
☆200ml water
☆1 teaspoon of fish stock
☆2 tablespoons of Soy sauce
☆2 tablespoons of Mirin
☆0.5 to 1 teaspoon of sugar
2 rice bowls of steam rice
Cut chicken into small pieces and slice onion
Put all ☆ ingredients in the pan and turn on the fire
When it is boiled, add chicken
Turn chichen to cook other side, and add onion
Cook chicken and onions well
Add mixed eggs on chicken and onions. Put the lid on and continue cook until egg white is cooked
When it is ready, put it on the steamed rice.
Useful Tips
I like undercooked eggs so I usually turn off the fire when white eggs become white. If you like your eggs well cooked , just continue to cook eggs until your preference.
