Hello.

I would like to share how to cook steam rice today.

Very easy to make if you get the trick.

You just need to remember the ratio of amount Rice 150g : water 200 ml and

Putting the lid on for steaming rice is important to making sticky rice.

I usually cook 750g of rice with 1L of water. After cooking a lot of steamed rice I just freeze some steamed rice for next meals. I used to not measure rice and water but I always burn some in the bottom of the pot and waste it. So it is important to measure your quantities.

  1. Wash rice with cold water in a strainer and a bowl until the water is almost clear.

  2. Put washed rice into the pot with cold water and make rice flat.

  3. Leave it for 15 to 60 minutes. (It depends on seasons, summer time around 15, winter time around 60. But if you are in rush, do not worry about it)

  4. Put it on a stove with the lid and put between strong and medium fire until water is boiled.

  5. When water is boiled or you see bubbles, reduce the fire between medium to small.(If you do not see boiled water or bubbles but water is gone, reduce the fire.)

  6. After 10 - 12 minutes, you can taste rice if it is ready.

  7. When it is ready, put the fire strong for 30 second and then turn off the fire.

  8. Wait 10 minutes for steaming rice.

  9. Fold all rice. (Like you mix merengue and flour)

Useful Tips

  • Do not open the lid more than necessary. Moisture is important for steamed rice

  • Do not push rice

  • If you make a lot of rice, you can freeze each portion. I will say it again, do not push rice.

I hope you can make nice steam rice.

See you
